Welcome to the
Philbeach, a traditional gay hotel. There are hundreds of small hotels in London. Very few are quite like the Philbeach. Peaceful, yet close to the heart of town. Private, but welcoming and
very friendly. Above all, individual. Different and personal.
The Philbeach Hotel is one of Europe's largest and friendliest gay hotel. Open for over 20 years, the Philbeach Hotel is the only gay hotel in London privately owned by gays and run by gays.
Philbeach Gardens is a 19th century, tree-lined crescent in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is secluded and free from traffic. Situated in one of the eldest gay centres of London. You can walk in a few minutes to a cosmopolitan community of bars and restaurants.
One of the attraction to visitors is that this is a residential rather than a tourist quarter. Many young Londoners live and shop here. The Underground gives quick access to the whole of the capital. You can reach Soho, the heart of gay London in ten to fifteen minutes.
Close at hand are some of the most attractive residential areas of London in Kensington, Chelsea and Knightsbridge. The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Parks and the many museums in the area are all within a few minutes of the hotel. And if you are visiting exhibitions held at Earls Court and Olympia, this is an ideal base.
The hotel has 40 bedrooms which are arranged to give a wide variety of accommodations. About one third of the rooms have private bathroom or shower, each with WC.
We also have a trendy gay/transvestite bar- Jimmy's Bar, and a Thai restaurant- The Princess, which has been voted as "probably the best gay restaurant in town" (Timeout).
